I’m an ex-Quaker, but was a member for 15 years so many things have sunk deep. I find myself drawing on lessons from Friends surprisingly often. That’s most obviously in a church context (I now worship with the United Reformed Church, and I’m sure people are bored of me beginning sentences with “when I was a Quaker…”), but also in a secular context (as an academic) when talking about things like methods of decision making or conflict resolution. Quakers have a really distinctive witness to offer the world. It’s worth talking about.
